The glow of the river lies to me at night
It whispers in my ear and tells me to hold tight
It lures me into the forest with just a glow of its vast waters.
The glow of the river has me running for more time in its unknown depths.
The ripples hypnotize and charm me into a warm submersion below its surface.
Am I drowning to get back to the glow of the forest when I’ve mistaken the dark river for an oasis?
Was the warm embrace just the waves putting me under further into a haze? Am I taking deep breaths or am I fighting to surface, rotating inhales and exhales.
Am I in the shallow end? Unwilling to standup? I don’t know how to make the river glow again.
